In case you didn’t know, on most holidays, Salvation Army has 50% off all clothing. I took advantage of this and went to two different stores. The first was at 10am and it was PACKED! I tried on all my shirts outside the dressing room because the line was so long. My mom waited in line while my sister and I shopped. The line wrapped all around the store! Also, my sister got a cashmere sweater for $2!!

Purchase #2. Total: 17.49 BUT due to the cashier’s error it was only $5.50!

Shopping Forever at Forever 21

At my local mall Forever 21 moved into a massive space. I was stunned for at least five minutes at the sheer size of the store; I didn’t know where to start.

 

I loved all the of owl inspired necklaces.

 

Both of these necklaces were simple but stunning.

 

Beautiful and useful for late-night walks on campus.

I’ve been looking for oxford flats for such a long time but at $25 for, frankly, not very well made shoes, it wasn’t worth it.

 

I fell in love with the print on this. It doesn’t photograph very well but it definitely reminded me of a Monet painting. Unfortunately they were poorly cut shorts.

I won these shoes today on ebay for less than $5. The bf is a little frightened by them but I want to wear them with more feminine clothes so then, hopefully, he won’t be scared. I think they’ll be great for spring and remind me of something out of a Anthropologie or Urban Outfitters catalog. Any suggestions of what to wear these with? Pictures are more than welcome!

It was “March madness” at Salvation Army today and I got some great things. I never find shoes in my size so I was super excited when that was a majority of my spoils.

I got two long sleeve t-shirts that are great for layering and wearing under dresses in the winter; one is brown the other is dark purple. I got two flats with jewels on the top: one blue (S0), one silver (Gitano). I also got purple pumps (a smaller heel of about 2″; Studio 6) and sock monkey slippers (Nick & Nora). I had my eye on this purse last time I went a few weeks ago and it was still there (Avon 1993, does that make it vintage ?). All of this was 21.56, I think that’s pretty good for all my spoils!

Websites That Really Make You Money

IF ANYONE WANTS TO JOIN EITHER SITE YOU CAN E-MAIL ME/JUST COMMENT HERE  SO I CAN SEND YOU A PERSONAL INVITE.  HELP A POOR COLLEGE STUDENT OUT; YOU’LL JOIN ANYWAY RIGHT?  DAMN…I FEEL LIKE KANYE TYPING IN ALL CAPS…

So there are some sorry-ass sites out there for “you can win gift cards” and “take surveys for gift cards” but I found some legit ones.  Sure, I’ve cycled through e-mail addressed because they’ve gotten crammed full of spam but it’s all worth it because I get real money now.

My favorite is MyPoints.   It sends daily e-mails of 5 points each and you  just have to open the e-mail and click the link (it’ll open in a new tab, let it load then close it out).  In addition, you can take occasional surveys where you’ll get 10 points for trying to take the survey and more if you actually qualify.  Also, any time you buy something online you should check here first, you can get points for a TON of online retailers.  I’m almost at the 1 year mark (in 4 days) and I’ve redeemed $50+ in gift cards.  Download the coupon printer to get even more points while saving money on groceries, review websites for extra points, and bamn, you almost have 10 bucks.  My advice: stay away from the games and make sure you click the link from mypoints website before you buy anything.  If you bought something and forgot to click-thru you won’t get any points.

Another, slower yet lucrative, money-making website is EPoll.  This site is less frequent and less rewarding but you’ll be sent surveys (1-4) a month that are usually 10-40 minutes long.  I’ve gotten at least $20 from them and I have $10 ready to redeem now (I’m holding out for more money, sure, it takes longer but you get some “deals”).
